The Kushal Yuva Program is a flagship initiative by BSDM. And aimed at enhancing the employability of Bihar’s youth aged between 15 and 25 years. This program is particularly designed for individuals who have completed at least the 10th grade. And regardless of whether they are pursuing higher education or have already completed it. KYP focuses on imparting essential soft skills, including life skills, communication skills in both English and Hindi, and basic computer literacy.
On successful completion of these courses and assessments, learners are certified to enhance their opportunities in the labour market.
These trainings are for different industries based on their particular demands. Freshers and experienced candidates can avail these courses and acquire domain skills to enhance employment and self-employment opportunities. The courses fall into several sectors, such as:
Agriculture: Courses include Animal Health Worker, Artificial Insemination Technician, and Tropical/Sub-tropical Fruit Grower.
Each course under the Domain Skilling initiative is developed in collaboration with industry experts to ensure relevance and effectiveness. Recognition of Prior Learning, or RPL, is a novel program undertaken by BSDM for awarding skills and knowledge that are earned informally or experientially. Bihar Skill Development Centre (BSDCs) has set up for skilling vocational learning in multiple skill areas and facilitates skill development by reaching to far-flung parts of Bihar with state-of-art infrastructure, a well-trained group of instructors teaching quality skill.
